Olympus Survivors — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 10 October 2026 · Applies to the game at olympus-survivors.web.app and the Olympus Survivors Android app.
1. Who we are
Olympus Survivors (“the game”, “we”) is an independent game. Contact for any privacy question or request: contact@aoe2rms.com.
2. Data stored on your device
Your game progress (drachmas, unlocks, achievements, settings, best runs) is saved in your browser's or app's local storage on your own device. It is never sent to us. Clearing the app's data or your browser storage deletes it.
3. Account and leaderboard (optional)
Signing in is optional and only needed to post scores to the online leaderboard (“Hall of Heroes”).
- Sign-in: handled by Google through Firebase Authentication. Google shares your account's basic profile (name, email address, profile picture) with Firebase Authentication so you can be signed in. We do not copy your email or real name into the game's database and they are never shown to other players.
- What we store: a random Firebase user ID, the unique hero name you choose (changeable once every 30 days) and the date it was last changed.
- Cloud save: while you are signed in, a copy of your game progress (unlocks, drachmas, achievements, statistics) is stored with your account so you can continue on another device. Only you can read it. Device settings are not uploaded.
- Leaderboard entries: when you choose to post a run, we store your hero name, user ID, the hero and realm you played, monsters slain, level, stages cleared, run time, whether you won, the daily-challenge date (if any) and the time of posting. Leaderboard entries and hero names are public: anyone can see them.
- This data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore (Firebase) servers operated by Google.
4. Advertising (Android app and website)
The Android app shows ads through Google AdMob, and the website through Google AdSense (H5 Games Ads): optional rewarded ads (for example “watch an ad to revive”) and an occasional full-screen ad between runs, never in the middle of a fight. The PC version shows no ads.
- AdMob and AdSense may collect and use your device's advertising ID (app) or cookies and similar identifiers (website), IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and ad interaction data, in order to show, measure and limit the frequency of ads and to prevent fraud.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app and the website ask for your consent with Google's consent form before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in Options → Ad privacy choices.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your Android device settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- How Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and Google Privacy Policy.
5. Services we use
| Service | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase Hosting | Serves the website (standard web server logs such as IP address are processed by Google). | |
| Firebase Authentication | Optional Google sign-in. | |
| Cloud Firestore | Stores hero names, leaderboard entries and cloud saves. | |
| Google AdMob + User Messaging Platform | Ads and consent (Android app). | |
| Google AdSense (H5 Games Ads) + Privacy & messaging | Ads and consent (website). |
We do not use analytics or tracking of our own, and we do not sell or rent personal data.
5b. Online co-op
Online co-op connects the players' devices directly (peer-to-peer, WebRTC). To set up the connection, technical connection details (including IP addresses) are briefly stored in Cloud Firestore under a random 6-letter game code and deleted as soon as the players are connected. During the game, players' devices exchange game data directly, so the other players' devices can see your IP address. If the devices can't connect directly (for example on mobile data), the game data is instead passed through the game's Firebase Realtime Database (Google, servers in Belgium) under the same game code; only game state (positions, monsters, choices) is sent, and it is deleted when the game ends. Your in-game name is shown to the other players.
6. How long we keep data
Your hero name, cloud save and leaderboard entries are kept until you delete your account. Local game progress stays on your device until you remove it.
7. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account at any time:
- In the game: Main menu → Account → Delete account. This removes your hero name, your cloud save, all of your leaderboard entries and your sign-in account, immediately.
- Without the game: email contact@aoe2rms.com from the Google account you signed in with, with the subject “Olympus Survivors account deletion”. We delete your data within 30 days.
Data held by Google for advertising is managed by Google; see section 4.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your data-protection authority. To use these rights, contact us at the address above. The legal basis for leaderboard data is your consent (posting is your choice) and our legitimate interest in running the game; for personalised ads it is your consent.
9. Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
Content & safety
- Photosensitivity: the game contains flashing lights and fast-moving patterns. A health warning is shown on first launch and can be read again in Options. Options → Reduce flashing softens screen flashes; you can also lower Screen shake and Weapon effects.
- Content: fantasy violence against mythological monsters and historical armies, shown as pixel art without realistic blood or gore. No gambling, no real-money purchases.
- Players' names: hero names are filtered for offensive words and are visible to other players. To report a name, press the ⚑ next to it on the leaderboard or e-mail contact@aoe2rms.com; offending names and their scores are removed.
- Online co-op: there is no chat. You only play with people who have your 6-letter game code.
Credits & licences
- All game art, music and sound effects are generated by the game's own code. The characters, monsters and places come from Greek mythology and ancient history, which are in the public domain.
